The Chicago Bullls announced that they have waived veteran guard Goran Dragic.
The 36-year-old has signed a one-year deal for the minimum salary last summer and played in 51 games, averaging 6.4 points, 2.7 assists and 1.4 rebounds. But once the team signed Patrick Beverely, Dragic was the odd man out of the rotation.
Dragic will be playoff-eligible if he signs with another team between not and the last day of the regular season ince he was waived before March 1. He could also be claimed on waivers with a team having to take on $1.84 million hit against the salary cap.
Meanwhile, the Bulls open up a roster spot and are $1.2 million below the luxuy tax.
