The 37-year-old Aldridge has been preparing to return to the NBA for his 17th season. He played 47 games for the Brooklyn Nets last season, averaging 12.9 points in 47 games.
Aldridge is a Dallas native so joining the Mavericks would likely be his preference if he can make a team. Plus, he could possibly provide frontline scoring and veteran leadership. Over he course of his career, the seven-time All-Star has averaged 19.1 points and 8.1 rebounds.
