The Cleveland Cavaliers are looking to add another piece ahead of the NBA trade deadline and one place of need is another wing player. Marc Stein writes on his Substack that the Cavs have considered a three-way trade to acquire Malik Beasley from the Jazz with the Atlanta Hawks sending John Collins to Utah.
Stein adds that the Jazz have been interested in Collins for some time but "to this point, have given the Hawks pause by seeking additional draft compensation for taking on Collins, who still has three seasons left on his five-year, $125 million contract after this one".
As for what the Cavs would include in any such deal, Caris LeVert and his $18.8m expiring contract would be the most likely candidate.
Beasley is only shooting 39.9% from the field this season but the bulk of his shots are from deep with him averaging 8.6 threes per game and connecting on 35.8% of them.
